When people at school and in the town treat him badly, he lashes out in horrifying ways, killing anyone who threatens or embarrasses him — even his own family and friends. His parents struggle between love and fear, trying to stop him but realizing too late that he’s unstoppable.
In the end, Brandon fully embraces his evil nature. He destroys his home, kills his parents, and causes chaos across Brightburn, hiding his crimes behind accidents and disasters. The film ends with news reports hinting that other super-powered beings might exist too — suggesting a dark “evil superhero universe.” Brightburn is a chilling “what if” story — showing what could happen if Superman had turned out evil instead of good.
