Woodwalkers follows the story of Carag, a boy who is half-human and half-puma — a Woodwalker. Woodwalkers are beings who can shift between an animal form and a human form. Carag grew up in the wilderness as a mountain lion, but after discovering human civilization, he chooses to live among humans. However, life in the human world is confusing and dangerous, and Carag struggles to fit in or fully understand human behavior.

Eventually, Carag enrolls in Clearwater High, a secret school that trains young Woodwalkers to control their abilities and live safely among humans. There, he makes new friends like Holly (a lively squirrel Woodwalker) and Brandon (a strong bison Woodwalker). Carag learns more about his identity, discovers new abilities, and begins to feel like he finally belongs somewhere. But he also faces dangerous enemies — including other Woodwalkers who want to exploit him.
As Carag learns to balance both sides of his life — animal and human — he discovers a larger threat that puts both worlds at risk. With his friends, he must find the courage to protect his school and stop those who want to use Woodwalker powers for the wrong reasons. The story mixes adventure, friendship, fantasy, and personal growth, making it a coming-of-age tale with a magical twist.
